The Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) invites members and guests to join AMAC Active for a free educational webinar, “Immune System Health: Your Body’s First Line of Defense Against Cancer,” on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The webinar will feature Dr. Kelly Victory, Chief of Emergency & Disaster Medicine, in a conversation hosted by Melanie Griffin, host of AMAC Active.

The immune system works around the clock to help protect the body, but its effectiveness and function can change as we age. During this informative discussion, Dr. Victory will explore how the immune system recognizes and responds to abnormal cells, including potentially cancerous cells, and what individuals can do to support their body’s natural defenses.

Participants will learn more about how immune function changes with age and how everyday factors can influence immune health. The discussion will explore the connections between immune function and nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, and other lifestyle choices.

Topics will include:

  • How the immune system helps identify and respond to abnormal cells
  • Ways immune function can change as we age
  • Everyday factors that may affect immune health
  • The relationship between nutrition and immune function
  • The importance of regular movement and exercise
  • How sleep and stress can influence overall wellness
  • Practical lifestyle choices that can help support the body’s natural defenses

“Understanding how our bodies work is an important part of taking a more active role in our health,” said Melanie Griffin. “Our goal with AMAC Active is to provide adults with useful information and practical strategies that can support healthier living as they age. This conversation with Dr. Victory will give our audience an opportunity to learn more about one of the body’s most important defense systems.”

Dr. Victory is a physician and public health expert who regularly appears on radio and television to discuss health, emergency medicine, disaster preparedness, and public health issues. Her work emphasizes patient education and helping individuals better understand their health and healthcare options.

Griffin is a health and wellness professional with more than 20 years of experience in fitness, nutrition, and chronic disease prevention for midlife and older adults. Through AMAC Active, she focuses on whole-person health and the role nutrition, movement, and lifestyle can play in supporting long-term vitality and quality of life.

Whether attendees are focused on healthy aging, prevention, or simply becoming better informed about their health, the webinar is designed to provide practical insights and a greater understanding of the relationship between immune health and overall wellness.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to submit questions for Dr. Victory as part of the webinar.
