How to Make a Perfect 4-Ingredient Smoothie

Smoothie
Smoothie

In a blender, add and mix the following ingredients together:

  • ¼ c. of non-fat plain Greek yogurt or your favorite
  • ¼ c. frozen mango slices
  • ¼ c. fresh pulp-free orange juice
  • 1 small banana, cut and frozen in chunks

Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Enjoy immediately.

Did you know that mangoes are among the best foods you can include in a healthy diet? That’s because they are an excellent source of vitamin C, minerals, and antioxidants. One mango per week can help boost your immune system and fight cholesterol. Mangos are also a great source of magnesium and potassium - and may even have potential anticancer effects, per Healthline. Bananas, too, are considered healthy and contain good amounts of fiber, vitamins C and B6, folate, manganese, and potassium.

Tips: Smoothies make a great healthy breakfast beverage or snack. If you’re not a big fan of mangoes, you may substitute with ¼ cup of frozen strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries. This recipe creates a smooth, easy-to-drink beverage. If you prefer a thicker smoothie, you may decrease the amount of orange juice or increase the amount of yogurt to achieve desired consistency. And, because the mangos and bananas are frozen, there’s no need to add ice unless you prefer an icier drink. As always, if you are concerned about your eating habits, food allergies, or blood sugar levels, talk to your doctor before making dietary changes.
