WASHINGTON, D.C. — August 2026 — In recognition of Healthy Aging Awareness Month, AMAC Active will host a free educational webinar, “The 5 Pillars of Healthy Aging: Why Supporting Your Liver May Be One of the Smartest Things You Can Do After 50,” on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. CT / 3:00 p.m. ET.

Hosted by Melanie Griffin of AMAC Active, the webinar will feature Dr. Chad Walding, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Co-Founder of NativePath, for an evidence-informed conversation about the everyday habits and interconnected systems that can help adults remain active, independent, and resilient as they age.

Healthy aging isn't about finding one miracle solution. Instead, it requires supporting the foundational systems that influence how we move, think, recover, and function throughout life.

During the webinar, Griffin and Dr. Walding will explore five foundational pillars of healthy aging: brain health, muscle and mobility, heart and metabolic wellness, sleep and recovery, and liver health.

While heart, brain, and muscle health often receive much of the attention when it comes to aging well, the liver quietly performs hundreds of essential functions throughout the body. The webinar will take a deeper look at this often-overlooked organ and explain how nutrition, physical activity, sleep, weight management, hydration, fiber intake, and other lifestyle factors can support healthy liver function and the body's natural detoxification processes.

Dr. Walding will also address common liver and “detox” myths and explore the science behind glutathione, an important antioxidant produced by the body. Attendees will learn about N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), its role as a source of cysteine used in glutathione production, and why researchers continue to investigate NAC in areas including healthy aging, antioxidant defenses, oxidative stress, cellular health, and liver health.

Rather than focusing on quick fixes or wellness trends, the webinar will emphasize practical, evidence-informed habits adults can incorporate into everyday life.

What Attendees Will Learn

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the five foundational pillars of healthy aging and how they work together to support long-term health, resilience, and independence.
  • Describe the liver's role in healthy aging, including its involvement in metabolism, antioxidant defenses, and the body's natural detoxification processes.
  • Differentiate common liver health myths from evidence-based lifestyle strategies.
  • Explain the relationship between glutathione and NAC and why researchers continue to study NAC as a precursor to glutathione.
  • Identify practical nutrition, movement, sleep, and lifestyle habits that can support healthy aging and overall liver health.

Free Educational Guide for Attendees

Attendees will also receive NativePath's FREE educational guide, The Secret to a Healthy Liver.

The guide explores common liver myths, healthy aging strategies, foods that support liver health, the science behind glutathione, why researchers continue studying NAC, and everyday habits that support the body's natural detoxification processes.

The webinar will conclude with a live audience Q&A, giving attendees an opportunity to hear Dr. Walding address common questions about liver health, healthy aging, glutathione, NAC, nutrition, and lifestyle.
